    Friday Favorites | Vol. 8

Hi friends! It’s been a while since I’ve participated in Friday Favorites so I thought today is a good a time as any since I have lots of things to catch you all up on! 🙂

    Friday Favorites

Ever since moving into our own space, we were able to have my dog come live with us! Tommy is even more of a dog-lover than I am and we are both just loving having Noelle live with us. She just brings so much more joy to our home. She is the sweetest dog and we are so lucky to have her!

Ever since entering the second trimester I have finally gotten my energy back — and also my appetite! It’s been so, so awesome to finally feel “normal” again. I am able to have my morning coffee, which I am so happy about. I can also spend more time taking care of the house and cooking healthy food too. It took a while for all of these things to fall back into place, and sometimes I even doubted that they actually would. It just feels awesome to finally be able to have a routine again.

I know I mentioned this in one of my pregnancy updates but, I am really loving our new rocker we got for the baby’s room! It’s the perfect size and I got it for a great price. I’ll link it here if you’d like to check it out for yourself. (This is an affiliate link!)

I’ve been working on my baby girl blanket (No, not because we’re having a girl! We do find out Monday though!). I will be adding it to my Etsy shop soon and cannot wait to really start focusing more on different items over the next month. I already have started the cutest polar bear winter hat for a one-year-old and cannot wait to share with you guys!

Tommy and I got back from our Wildwood beach vacation earlier this week. While we were down there we had an awesome date night at this amazing Italian restaurant. I love date nights with him, especially when they include Italian food 😉. I will be recapping our vacation sometime next week so be on the lookout for that!

I think that’s all for this week! I’m really excited to have the motivation to blog again. I’ve really missed this place. I’m linking up with these lovely ladies below. Don’t forget to come join us!

    Let’s Have Coffee | Vol. 11

It has been way too long since I’ve sat down for a cup of coffee with you guys! In case you’re new here, I sit down and have a coffee date with my friends over at Erin’s blog. I’m a bit late to the link up this month but normally we meet every second Monday of each month. We just talk about whatever is on our hearts as if we were really having coffee together. We’d love for you to come join us!

If we were having coffee, I would ask if you’ve heard the news that I’m pregnant! I haven’t joined in for coffee since announcing the news so I would have to catch up all up on that. It’s been a complete whirlwind since finding out in May, but we are so very excited for our little bundle of joy joining our family in January!

If we were having coffee, I would admit that it’s hard for me to talk about anything other than the baby at this point. Our world is going to change so much and it’s so hard not to at least try to picture how our lives our going to look once baby is here. I’d also admit that it’s hard not talking about it because we are finding out the gender of our sweet babe this Monday!

If we were having coffee, I would ask you what your favorite type of brewed coffee is for when you are drinking coffee at home. I’m always looking for new brands of coffee to try. I like to switch up what I drink so I don’t get too used to one type and then each cup really tastes great.

If we were having coffee, I would let you know that I feel a bit lost since finding out I’m pregnant. There just have been so many changes this year. I started the year out as a stay-at-home wife, we moved out of our first apartment, and then found out that I was pregnant. I’m going to actually do a whole post about this soon but I’m trying to find my groove again with whether or not I’m going to still be pursuing blogging full-time. I’m still trying to work out exactly what all of this means for my life.

If we were having coffee, I would explain that I am planning on working hard on my Etsy shop over the next few months. I have neglected it a lot lately. I plan on trying to stock it up as much as possible with new blankets, baby items, and home decor before baby comes. I also really want to collaborate with some bloggers within the coming months too so if that’s something you’d be interested in, please contact me!

If we were having coffee, I’d ask how your spiritual life is lately. I feel like it’s so easy not to bring this up with friends but so very important. I would share that I’m starting to feel closer to God lately. I feel a bit lost in my relationship with him because my husband and I switched churches, then ended up switching back to our old church after moving back into town. We’ve also been so busy this summer that we have been missing a lot of church. This always affects my relationship with God as well. I’m really hoping with the start of fall we can really fall back into a consistent routine of not missing church anymore. I think that will be great for both of our walks with Jesus.

Thanks for joining me for coffee! It was so great to have you. Before we go though, please tell me what else is new with you! I’d love to hear. 😋

    Life Lately

Hey guys! I wanted to drop by today and share just a little bit about what’s been going on in my life lately. It has been such a whirlwind since finding out I’m pregnant. I’ve always wanted to be one of those bloggers who almost always blogs consistently no matter what is going on in their life, but honestly that just isn’t me. I want to get better about blogging when things get crazy but I’m also learning to give myself grace when that doesn’t happen.

What have we been up to?

Pregnancy has completely rocked my world. And honestly I would describe my pregnancy as relatively easy and everything has gone as smooth as smooth goes. I am so very thankful for this and consider it a huge blessing from God. But can I be honest with you guys? The pregnancy was a complete surprise to us! It was a great surprise but a HUGE surprise nonetheless. It also came at a time where we were adjusting to living with my mom and family and it was just hard to find my footing in all of the newness.

I can honestly say that I am just now after 3 months of getting used to the idea of having a baby that it is starting to feel real. I’ve had a really hard time I guess believing that this was all really happening. Pregnancy also flips your world upside down because you just don’t feel like yourself for such a long time. I am just now starting to feel “normal”.

It helps a lot that we finally are almost completely settled into our new place. It’s been such a great thing to finally have our own space again and has honestly been so life-giving for me and I think Tommy too. I have a little bit more unpacking to do and also need to get things hung on the walls, but it’s almost there.

What is my blogging schedule going to look like?

I’m not sure exactly how blogging is going to go going forward but I definitely want to start writing and showing up here more often. Even if this place only becomes a place to document our life I’ve decided to just be okay with that. I love being able to look back into years ago and see how our life was when we were just dating – it’s so special! I fully plan to keep this place going and even more so once the baby comes. I know I’ll just have to get even better at prioritizing it though because I’m about to have so much less time but that’s okay!

What does the next month look life for us?

I am super excited for August! We are going on vacation in about two weeks and I can’t wait. We are going to the beach for 5 days and it’s going to be so great. We also have our anatomy scan on the 21st and I still haven’t figured out exactly how we are going to be finding out the gender but just know that we definitely are. I’m so excited to finally know and to start working on the nursery!

So that’s really all we’ve been up to lately. Getting used to the idea of having a baby and moving. I’m glad to (hopefully) be back more often. Thanks for sticking around and celebrating with us. 🙂

    What’s Up Wednesday: June 2017

It may be a day late but I thought I’d join in for What’s Up Wednesday especially since I haven’t been blogging too often lately. I was debating on not doing it again this month because ever since we moved in with my mom I haven’t been taking many pictures. But I decided that a post with fewer pictures is better than no post at all. 😉

What We’ve Been Eating This Week

Lots of meals made by my mom. This was supposed to be the last week that we were sharing a space with my mom so I was enjoying all of her cooking before being left to take on that responsibility on my own again. It turns out we will most likely be here for another week however though. Womp Womp.

    What I’m Reminiscing About

Living in our old apartment! If you guys remember, it was a tough move for me. I really did not want to leave because that space was perfect for Tommy and I. I seriously cannot believe that it’s been two months since we moved out though. I was thinking about just how awesome that little space was for the year that we lived there just the other day.

    What I’m Loving

That I finally opened my Etsy shop! I was planning on waiting until I had more items to sell but life got in the way and it was taking longer than expected so I decided to just open it with the items I do have done! If you’re interested in either of those blankets, check out my Etsy shop here! You can also follow along when new items are added to shop on Instagram here.

    What We’ve Been Up To

Nothing too much! We did a lot of weekend traveling this month so we are trying to stay home more lately to save some money. We are patiently waiting to move upstairs and start unpacking though!

    What I’m Dreading

Nothing really! Just not knowing when exactly we will be moving into our own place. We have to wait for the tenets to move out and they are waiting on the closing for their house. I’m praying, hoping, and wishing it will be sooner rather than later.

    What I’m Working On

More Etsy shop items! This is the baby blanket from above just in girl colors! I have a few other projects started as well but not yet finished.

    What I’m Watching/Reading

I have been slacking like crazy on reading. I’ve been in the middle of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for a few months now. I also just started Wild and Free by Hayley Morgan and Jess Connolly. I’m only one chapter into it but I’m excited to keep reading.

Tommy and I also are watching New Girl on Netflix and we seriously love that show. It’s just so funny and perfect for watching right before bed.

    What I’m Listening To

Honestly nothing haha. I’m not really too into Podcasts just because I don’t know of any good ones. Send me all of your recommendations though!

    What I’m Wearing

Lots of track shorts and t-shirts honestly. It’s been pretty hot here so I’ve been dressing nice and comfy. 🙂

    What I’m Doing This Weekend

We are dog sitting for Tommy’s parents this weekend and they have an awesome backyard with a super nice pool. We will probably be spending our days out by the pool and enjoying a house to ourself for a change!

    What I’m Looking Forward To

There is some HUGE news headed to the blog next week so stay tuned for that! I’m super excited to finally be able to talk about it here. 🙂

So that’s all for this month – told yah there weren’t many pictures. We really aren’t up to too much other than enjoying our slow-paced summer and the launch of my Etsy shop. What’s new with you? Come link up with us. 🙂

    Friday Favorites | Vol. 7

Hi friends! I’m back for the first time in a long time with Friday Favorites! I promise that soon enough I will be back to posting more regularly! Let’s recap what I’ve been up to over the last few weeks, shall we?

    Friday Favorites

    o n e

Tommy and I have spent two out of the three weekends this month at the beach! We just drove down for a few hours and sat in the sun and read and it’s been so much fun. We were determined to keep busy this month to try to make the time go faster (since we don’t move out of my mom’s house and into our new apartment until July 1st). This has proved to be a great way to pass the time since we both LOVE the beach.

    t w o

In other super exciting news, I launched my Etsy shop! I had planned to wait a bit longer until I had more items to buy but life got in the way and it’s taking longer than I expected to get them done. That’s totally okay but I decided I wanted to open shop with what I do have!

This chunky blanket is item number 1! My husband and I love to use it while were sitting on the couch watching TV. It’s super soft and warm. If you’re interested in seeing more about this item (like the 18 other color options or more pictures) click here. 🙂

The other item I have for sale is this beautiful baby boy blanket! This was my first item finished and it was so fun to make. If you’re interested in seeing more about this item, click here.

    t h r e e

We finished our online Bible study this month as well! (I actually never got around to posting about the last week, oops!) I did this study with Bella from Over The Teacups and it was such a great study! If you want to read about what I learned you can check out some of those posts (here, here, here, and here). The study was about Jesus’s “I am” statements and how they mean everything to us. It was so fun to have a friend to do the study with as well.

    f o u r

Tommy and I also took a trip up to Lake George for the weekend last week! Tommy really wanted to bring my mom and brother up and show them the lake. His family has been going there since he was a baby and we had so much fun sharing the lake with my family.

We also got to bring our dog Noelle, which was a big change but so much fun. She did so well! Here she is not sure how she’s feeling about being in the car. She seriously was the best dog while we were up there. We even brought her on the boat!

    f i v e

Other than that we’ve been doing lots of resting and napping this month and you won’t see me complaining one bit. It’s been great to have a nice balance of keeping busy and resting. Can’t wait for all the fun to begin once we move upstairs to our apartment in exactly a week from tomorrow though! Then there will probably not be so much resting being done because there’s going to be so much that needs to be done and I can’t wait!

Thanks for stopping by and catching up with me. What have you been up to? I’ve honestly really missed this space and can’t wait to get back to a more regular posting schedule. 🙂

    Monthly Goals: June

Before I even start this post I need to warn you guys, I 100% completely neglected my goals last month. Moving in with my family and only having a tiny room instead of an apartment to ourselves really proved to throw off every little bit of my motivation.

Even though we still have one more month before we get to move upstairs to our own apartment again I have a better feeling about this month. (At least a little bit!) My motivation is back a little bit and I’m excited to make some new goals.

    May Goals Recap

    • Celebrate Branden + Sarah’s wedding!
    • Meal plan well this month
    • Continue drinking plenty of water
    • Be active with Tommy
    • Spend more time in God’s Word
    • Read every night before bed
    • Celebrate our ONE year anniversary!

I told you guys it was bad!! I really didn’t even want to post a recap this month but I did for the sake of being real and knowing that other people have bad days as well.

Attending my cousin’s wedding was super fun despite how cold it ended up being that day. We also stayed overnight at a hotel in Maryland, which is always fun if you ask me.

We celebrated ONE whole year of marriage last month! I wrote a post about my reflections on the past year. You can check that out here if you missed it. 🙂

    June Goals

    • Get back into consistently reading my bible + praying
    • Go on plenty of hikes
    • Take a few beach trips
    • Go on a weekend getaway with Tommy and my family up to Lake George
    • Get caught up on bills
    • Plan one year photoshoot
    • Write 1-2 blog posts a week
    • Finish crocheting blanket

Let’s see if I can do a little better this month than last month! What are your goals this month?

I’m linking up with Autumn for #MonthlyGold.
    Come join us! 🙂
