Hi friends! Today I’m sharing my second frame this moment and it’s an exciting one!!
I took this little screenshot from a video of Melly army crawling! The night before this video was taken, Melly figured out how to start army crawling and it was such an exciting moment. This was the next morning when I set her down to play while I started making breakfast. She started scooting around and the boys were so excited and were calling her to come crawl over to them. All three of them were so excited and it made me so happy to see.
I can’t believe Melly is crawling! It’s a big week for our little family and I’m so happy to share it here. But that’s all for today. It was a short but sweet post. Thanks for following along. 🙂
Hi friends! Today I wanted to share some my favorites moments from the past few weeks. I’ve been really enjoying showing up here more often. Thanks for being here. 🙂

One of my top favorites from the past month or so is our new little playgroup that I’ve been mentioning. This was from this past week. The weather was finally warm enough and we went down to the beach after playing at the park and riding their bikes. It’s been so sweet to watch these boys form a friendship and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know moms. This group is such an answer to prayer.

This seems like an odd picture because it looks like a mess haha but another favorite it Target and BJs pickup! Normally we go out once a month as a family and do a big shop at both of these stores and it’s a lot of work bringing all three kids into both stores and trying to remember everything. This month we just didn’t have the time so I decided to do a pickup order from both stores instead. We left at 8:45 one morning to go and get the groceries and I was amazed at how easy it was. I really enjoy going into each of these stores and shopping myself but honestly I may need to do this more often because it just was too easy.

Something super simple but I’ve been loving these new measuring cups that I got in my Target order. We have gone through so many sets of measuring cups because they either keep getting lost or breaking. It’s been very frustrating haha so I finally remembered to add these to my order and they are metal so I know they won’t be breaking anytime soon! 😉

I FINALLY started making Brown Sugar Shaken Espressos and oh my gosh they have been soo good! I’ve been enjoying them in the afternoon and they are seriously so yummy. They’re extra good too since it’s starting to get really warm here too. I’m excited to keep enjoying them throughout the summer.

I haven’t read very much of this book just yet but I can already tell it’s going to be a favorite. I have been following Ashlee Gadd on Instagram and her blog for a long time and have always really loved her writing about motherhood. I can’t wait to really dig into her new book and be encouraged to continue pursuing creating even in the midst of how busy motherhood can be. (P.S. This would make a great Mother’s Day gift! For yourself or a friend!)
That’s it for today friends! Thanks again for being here and thank you to Andrea and Erika for hosting this little linkup! 🙂
Hey friends! I wanted to start a new little series on my blog this week. Tabitha from The Riddick Family Blog has started sharing a “frame this moment” every Thursday. She picks one special memory from the week to frame that she wants to remember forever. I have been enjoying reading hers so much over the past few months that I decided I would start sharing my own here too. 🙂
So for this week’s frame this moment, I wanted to share when we went out on an evening walk this last Saturday.
Everything lined up perfectly on this day where we had cleaned up the house early enough and had enough energy to head out on a walk after dinner. This doesn’t happen very often and the weather was perfect. We had such a nice time.
Shane had just gotten his big boy bike this day too, (!) (which somewhat inspired this walk.) We had ordered the bike over a week earlier and it kept getting delayed in transit. So needlessly to say, Shane was beyond excited when it finally showed up. He had such a fun time to riding his new bike.
This was just one of those moments where I was just extra thankful for my little family and just couldn’t believe that I get to be their mama. ❤️
Hey friends. Today I wanted to share about what has been going on with our little family over the past month or so. We’ve been very busy and are in a new season of parenthood where there are a lot more commitments outside of our house. It’s been an adjustment but it also feels really good too.
Speaking of commitments outside of our home, let’s start with t-ball! This is a picture from our first game and we’ve been having a lot of fun going to t-ball. I can’t believe we have a child who’s old enough to do sports. Shane has been loving having something special to do that’s just for him and we are loving watching him learn something new.
This sweet girl is just along for the ride. She is just the most joyful, fun girl who is just growing way too fast.
She is already eight months old!! She is just growing so fast. We’ve just moved up to eating solids twice a day now. She can sit up and is working on learning to crawl. She babbles a ton and can say mama and dada (when she wants). She completely adores her big brothers who adore her just as much. She is going through a bit of some sort of sleep problem where she doesn’t want to be put down at night but honestly I know it will only last so long and I’m just enjoying the extra struggles (even if they are exhausting sometimes).
And my sweet Ri! He’s getting so big too of course. We just recently weaned him from his paci and he did so great with it! We’ve been telling him lately that he’s too big for the paci and that he didn’t need it anymore and for a while, he wasn’t convince haha. But one day he just sort of decided himself that he was done so we went with it and honestly have never looked back. I’m so proud of how well he handled it because he was very attached to his paci. His language has also just exploded and he can now speak in small sentences and he is honestly just the cutest and the most fun. He’s hilarious and so different than Shaney and we are just enjoying being able to hear his little thoughts.
Another big thing that has happened around here is that Shane has gotten a new big boy bike. The package had gotten delayed twice and he was devastated at first but really handled it so well. He loves it so much and I’m so thankful we have been able to get him a new bike. Next is learning to ride without his training wheels!
Everything is changing in our lives and our dining room is another huge thing that has changed. We have been doing our schooling in the dining room and we unexpectedly were able to do a little makeover these past few weeks. We just love it so much now and it functions so much better than before too. I actually just did a Youtube video on it, if you’re interested in seeing more.
Because of our dining room refresh, it has let me to organize and purge so many things from our home. I started in the kitchen and dining room so that we could have everything organized better because of the new furniture, but then it led me to every other room in our house basically. I’m probably going to be sharing more soon. So far I’ve also done the kid’s toys (which desperately needed to be done!) and under the bathroom sink, and of course the homeschool stuff (which is still a work in progress).
We’ve been meeting each week with two other moms who also go to our church and who homeschool, which has been just the best. We have been meeting them at the park down the road. This week though it was much warmer than it has been and we also went down to the lake after playing at the park and it completely wiped this guy out. He fell asleep like this during quiet time. So sweet!
I think I could honestly keep going but this post is getting long and I need to go feed my boys (and myself!) breakfast. It has been really fun to write this post and share a bit more about our lives and I’m excited to keep going. Thanks for being here friend!
Hey friends! So I have been doing some thinking and praying since my post last week and I have figured out what my plans are for this blog going forward! I just wanted to hop on here really quickly and share. 🙂
In the beginning I started this blog to share about what God was teaching me and also to document my life. I then discovered that you could make money while blogging so I decided that I would try to do that as well. It has been a place where I’ve documented big things that have happened, two of my pregnancies, my birth stories, and many of the little things in between as well.
I have burned out many times and lost direction too. I haven’t really known what to share because my vision for the space has changed so many times. I’m excited to use this space going forward to return to my original vision and to use it to document my every day life and to share what God is teaching me. I used to think it was only worthwhile to share if I had many people reading here, but I’ve since realized that I can share here for myself and for my family.
I want to take more pictures of our mundane, normal life and share so that I can have this space to look back on. I realized it was the perfect place to document the big and little things and to have to show my kids when they get older. I also realized that some of my favorite blogs are ones where other moms are sharing just the “boring” every day life things.
I’ve already started taking a lot more pictures this week and plan to share soon. We are currently updating our dining room and just yesterday I went through and purged our entire kitchen of so many things. So that’s the plan, I am going to share more of just our every day life. Sometimes the posts may be just of random pictures from our week, and other times they may be more intentional posts of things that I have learned.
Either way, I hope that if you’re here and reading this that you find this exciting too. Thanks for being here friend!
Thanks for being here friends! Every first Wednesday of each month, my friend Bella and I have a little coffee date together. Don’t forget to go and check out her post after reading mine. 🙂
If we met for coffee, I would first have to tell you about a new coffee company that I recently tried and am loving. It’s called Kicking Horse coffee and it’s soo good. I had been drinking Peet’s coffee for years before finding this one and decided to switch because it just started to lack the flavor that I previously loved about it. I then found Kicking Horse and I’m so glad I did because I’ve been enjoying it so much. Also speaking of coffee, I mentioned a few months back about how Tommy bought me a Nespresso for my birthday. I just got more Nespresso pods in the mail yesterday and I cannot wait because I am going to be making my own Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso now that it’s starting to warm up and I am so excited.
If we met for coffee, I would be really honest with you and say that I am not sure what to do with this blog anymore. I really enjoy having it and have been writing here off and on since 2015 but I seem to have lost direction with it. It used to be just a place of documenting my life and sharing what God is doing in it. With now having three little ones and homeschooling, my free time is very slim and long form writing takes a lot of mental energy that I’m not sure that I have. At the same time I’m not sure who is even reading this anymore (lol). If you are a regular reader of this blog, it would be tremendously helpful if you could either leave a comment here or email me ([email protected]) and share why you keep coming back and what you would like to see more of here. I want to be thinking through how exactly to share in this space that would be interesting to you guys. I’m also always wondering if maybe it may be time to close up this little space.
If we met for coffee, I would share how we are nearing the end of our first homeschool year and would tell you that we’ve had so much fun these past few months. When we first started homeschooling, I wasn’t sure how it was going to go. With virtually no experience with homeschooling at all, I didn’t know if I had it in me. I didn’t know if Shane would like it. I didn’t know if we would be able to find friends to be social with and that would also have been a dealbreaker. But I am pleasantly surprised that both Shane and I have really enjoyed learning together and we have found some friends from church who are also homeschooling that we’ve been meeting with each week. Everything has gone really well and I’m so thankful and hopeful for the future.
If we met for coffee, I would likely share how we have recently redid our dining room. We painted and bought all new furniture and it turned out amazing. It has given us so much extra space as well and I’m just so excited about it. Once it’s finished, maybe I will do a post about it. (Let me know if this would be something you would be interested in as well.) This is also the same room we do school in so it’s given a bit more excitement to the end of the school year as well.
If we met for coffee, I would probably excitedly share about how my Youtube channel recently reached 100 subscribers (!) and I would tell you about how much fun I’ve been having sharing over there. Over the years (as I’m sure you have noticed) I have been looking for a fun place to create online. Like I’ve mentioned, I’ve enjoyed sharing here but have felt unsure of how to share in this space. I feel like I’ve finally found something that I’ve really enjoyed creating in and a place I can share really consistently. I hope this post was not too rambley or all over the place, but that’s where my heart has been lately. Thanks for being here and listening to my rambley thoughts. It means a lot to me that you’re here.
