    Baby Zin: 19 Week Bumpdate

Hey friends, I’m a little a lot late this week for the bumpdate but that’s because it’s been such an exciting week! If you missed it, we announced the gender of sweet baby Zin yesterday. You can check that out here. Let’s recap week 19 shall we? This was probably the most exciting week yet!

Size of the Baby: Mango – about 6 inches and 8.5 oz!

Total Weight Gain: I think about 7 pounds.

Gender: (I’m going to include this in even though we didn’t find out until 20 weeks.) A sweet baby BOY! I’m so excited! I believe we already have a name picked out too. As soon as we found out he was a boy I instantly didn’t like the names we had originally picked out for him. (We were debating between three.) We almost instantly decided right after I said that though that we really loved a new name. I’m still figuring out if I want to announce it before he is born, which to be honest I probably will. I am terrible at, and hate keeping secrets, but we need to confirm 100% if that’s the name we want before announcing obviously.

Symptoms: A little bit of belly issues. I had a few days where I was very emotional thinking about how everything is changing and is going to completely change once baby is born. It passed pretty quickly but I did have a bit of a breakdown thinking about it. I also felt the skin on my belly stretching a lot this week, which was a bit uncomfortable.

Movement: We finally felt him move you guys! I knew it was him too! I say we because I could feel it from the outside and had Tommy feel as well! We were laying down to go to sleep the night before I turned 20 weeks and I kept feeling little poking feelings around my belly button. I had a feeling it was the baby and it just kept happening and then we could even feel it from the outside! It was the coolest thing ever!

Sleep: I sometimes wake up on my back and have to flip back over onto my side because my shoulders/arms/hands fall asleep from laying on them 🙄.

Missing: I actually really had a day where I was missing my regular body a lot. I try not to dwell on this too much because I’m just so thankful to be pregnant. I think the skin stretching had something to do with it. It scared me a bit about how much my body has already and will change even more.

Exercise: I walked A LOT this week. At the beginning of it we were still in Wildwood so I was walking about 3 miles there. Then we came home and I took the dog for a walk a couple of days and even did pregnancy yoga one night before bed.

Tommy is: excited to know we are having a little boy!

Looking Forward To: Working on the nursery! Now that we know it’s a boy we can really start planning and I am beyond excited. We are planning to shiplap one of the walls in his room this week. We are also going to try to buy paint as well.

Best Moments: Same as last week 😉, relaxing on the beach with my husband.

This week was a really great week (even though I kind of combined week 19 + 20 a bit because of the gender), but I am still planning on doing a full update on Monday for week 20 so check back for that!

    Baby Zin: 18 Week Bumpdate

Hi friends. I know this bumpdate is a bit late but that’s because we just got home from vacation yesterday! I am planning on doing a vacation recap also, maybe either later this week or early next week so be on the look out for that 🙂.

Size of the Baby: An artichoke – about 5.59 inches long.

    Total Weight Gain: 6lbs.

Gender: We find out this Monday!! I’m still leaning more towards girl though. I will be surprised if it’s a boy.

Symptoms: A few uncomfortable symptoms this week. I had leg cramping one night when I woke up in the middle of the night. I had a gum issue, where my gums in one spot were just really swollen and took so long to get better. I was also a lot more tired this week than usual. I took a nap a lot of days, probably because of all the walking I did on vacation though.

Movement: Still unsure. I can’t wait until I can feel baby move!

Sleep: Sleep was a bit rough for me this week. I had a doctor’s appointment this week and I asked him when I had to stop sleeping on my back and he told me now! This made it much harder to sleep the rest of the week because anytime I would get uncomfortable I would just lay on my back and fall asleep. I had to get used to sleeping only on my side, which was an adjustment. But my pregnancy pillow really helped with that and is now a very prized possession of mine, haha!

Missing: I don’t think anything this week.

Exercise: We walked at least 3 miles every day in Wildwood so I’m totally counting that as working out!

Tommy is: getting more and more excited as time goes on.

Looking Forward To: Our anatomy scan this Monday!!

Best Moments: Definitely being at the beach, relaxing with my husband 🙂.

    Baby Zin: 17 Week Bumpdate

Happy Monday friends! I’m back again with another bumpdate and I must admit that this week was probably the best week yet. I honestly can say that I feel the most back to myself so far. I love being able to be productive again and drink enjoy coffee!

Size of the Baby: Pomegranate – about 5.12 inches

    Total Weight Gain: 5 pounds

Gender: We find out two weeks from today! I think we have an official name if it’s a girl too! I’m so excited.

Symptoms: Honestly not much this week! I still get bloated on and off depending on what/how much I eat. I still get tired quicker when I’m doing something active. Oh and I still am more emotional than normal. I had a bit of a breakdown the first day I turned 17 weeks just from a bunch of things that felt like they were building up. Other than that though I feel pretty normal and I am so very thankful for this part of pregnancy!

Movement: I still am not positive if I definitely can feel baby or not! I just feel hard spots every once in a while so I’m not sure if that’s braxton hicks or the baby.

Sleep: I bought a pregnancy pillow this week! (You can check it out here if you’re interested in which one – affiliate link.) I honestly kind of have a love/hate relationship with it right now haha. Some nights it’s the best thing ever and some nights I kind of hate it. I think it’s a matter of getting used to sleeping with it because it’s definitely an adjustment. I do love how it supports my back and hips though. If I knew what I know now about it I would definitely have bought just a regular C-shaped pillow instead but oh well.

Missing: Honestly nothing this week woohoo!

Exercise: I have definitely been more active this week, which makes me very happy! I went on a mile walk one day with Tommy and our dog. Another couple of days I was super active inside the house so I’m totally counting that as exercise because I was sore and tired afterwards! This week I want to do more walking, which I will be doing because we’ll be at the beach! I also want to start incorporating some YouTube videos also.

NurseryWe bought our first piece of furniture for the nursery! I honestly couldn’t be more excited! I’ve been researching gliders and rocking chairs like crazy lately and found a really adorable one on Amazon. It was on sale for $178 and I had to get it because it was such a great deal!

I’ll link it here if you are interested in checking it out. It’s still on sale and the perfect little rocker if you are a smaller person and also have a smaller room you want to put it in. (Also an affiliate link!)

Tommy is: excited about the possibility of having a little girl. He’s always wanted a little girl so we’re both excited to see what this little baby is.

Looking Forward To: Continuing to put together the baby’s room, finding out the gender, and going on our “babymoon”!

Best Moments: Going to BuyBuyBaby and looking at the different stroller options! That was seriously so much fun.

    Baby Zin: 16 Week Bumpdate

The weeks are seriously just flying by! This makes me both excited and nervous haha but mostly excited. I already cannot wait to meet this little babe. So this week was pretty uneventful so I’m not sure I’ll have anything too different/exciting to share but I still want to document this time. So let’s recap week 16 shall we?

Size of the Baby: An Avocado! About 4.6 inches

    Total Weight Gain: 4 pounds

Gender: Still unknown until August 21st but I was reading through last weeks update and I was saying how I felt like the baby was a girl and well I sort of feel like the baby is a boy this week! Obviously I really don’t know though haha can’t wait to find out though!

Symptoms: Some days I still get really bloated if I eat a lot that day. I definitely had some days of fatigue still but those seem to be fewer and farther between, which I am very thankful for! One day this week I had so much energy though and I got SO MUCH done around the house. It was so nice. Not too much going on this week!

Movement: Same as last week. Sometimes I feel a hard spot on my belly where I’m pretty sure the baby is but I can’t be too positive. I also think I feel little flutterings when I lay down at night. I can’t wait until I know FOR SURE it’s the baby though.

Sleep: Still continuing to get better and better also. I’m still having some insomnia after waking up to go to the bathroom around 4-5 am but it’s usually about 30 mins vs the 1-2 hours it was before so for that I am thankful.

Missing: Having regular energy for sure. I really hate the days where I’m feeling super fatigued and have no motivation to do anything besides sit on the couch. I’ve been back to drinking coffee more regularly and sleeping better though so I’m hoping this will get even better over the next few weeks.

Exercise: I am sad to report that I did not end up following through and working out this past week. It was a really busy week for Tommy and I, which is really just an excuse lol but is also true so I am going to give it another try this week.

Tommy is: working so hard to bring in extra money for the baby. He’s been doing side jobs a lot this past week and has been working so hard!

Looking Forward To: Still finding out the gender – exactly 3 weeks from today woohoo!!

Best Moments: Just hearing Tommy say that he can’t wait to be a dad. I can’t wait to see him be a dad also!

    Baby Zin: 15 Week Bumpdate

Hi friends! I promise I’m going to really try to post more things on the blog besides just bumpdates but this past week really got away from me! I don’t have a bump shot exactly but I have already taken my 16 week one and can’t wait to share that with you guys next week. Not too much has changed over the course of a week but there are a few things to update you on so here goes. 🙂

Size of the Baby: An orange – about 4 inches

Total Weight Gain: about 3-4 pounds depending on when I weigh myself

Gender: Our anatomy ultrasound is now less than a month away – on August 21st and I seriously cannot wait. Most days I think the baby is a girl though.

Symptoms: Honestly this week was pretty awesome. After reading last weeks update I realized that I’m not peeing as often, which is nice haha. My stomach had a bit of an issue in the beginning of the week but seems to be back to normal now. Oh! Also the day I turned 15 weeks, I woke up and read the update on my pregnancy apps like I always do when the weeks change over and all my apps mentioned that bloody noses were a common symptom this week. Literally 5 mins later I got a bloody nose! It was so strange but I only had the one so that was good.

Movement: I THINK I felt the baby move on the last day of this week! It was so subtle but it really felt like the baby pushed up on the outside of my belly. Every so often there’s a hard bulge where I’m pretty sure is the baby! It’s hard to tell but has been really cool still.

Sleep: I’m happy to report sleep has been a lot better this week! I had a few nights where my body just really didn’t want me to sleep on my sides so I had to sleep on my back which was weird because I’ve been sleeping on my sides just fine before that. It thankfully seems to have passed though and I am back to sleeping on my sides. I’m actually really surprised with how well my body adjusted to this because in the beginning it was really hard. I also had 1 or 2 nights where I had a bit of insomnia, where I’d wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and couldn’t go back to sleep but that seems to be getting a lot better too.

    Missing: Nothing this week!

Exercise: I haven’t started exercising yet. I’ve been pretty tired a lot of days this week so that really deters me away from wanting to exercise. I fully intend to start next week though.

Tommy is: so supportive. He’s been running to the food store for me all week picking up dinner and different cravings I’ve been having. He’s so great.

Looking Forward To: Feeling the baby move for sure!

Best Moments: Feeling a lot more normal and getting to enjoy coffee again!

    Baby Zin: 14 Week Bumpdate

Hi friends. Even though I forgot to take a belly shot this week I thought I’d still share with you what has been going on since entering the 2nd trimester.

Size of the baby: Lemon – about 3 1/2 inches long!

Total Weight Gain: About 2-3 pounds

Gender: We will be finding out on August 21st! I can’t wait!

Maternity Clothes: I really need to get myself some new pants. I tried to find a pair of maternity shorts for the summer but my bump is so small and I’m already petite to begin with so they were all too big on me. I’m at a loss at what to wear because everything is getting too tight but I’m worried I’m not going to be able to find maternity clothes that fit me yet!

Sleep: Oh gosh, sleep. Sleep is either a hit or miss for me. I always wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and sometimes I can’t go back to sleep for another hour or two. Those days are always the worst but other than that it’s been okay. I’m adjusting to sleeping on my sides and back, which is not fun.

Missing: Hmm I don’t really drink to begin with so I’m definitely not missing alcohol or anything. I do miss being able to stomach coffee as much as I used to. I’m just not in the mood for it like I used to be. It actually hurts my stomach a lot of the time now too. Womp Womp. Actually the one thing I really do miss is being able to eat my meat red. I love burgers and steaks medium-rare so I’m really missing that lately.

Craving: I’m going to have to start writing these down. I’d say this week I craved chips with queso a lot.

Symptoms: Peeing a lot lol. A growing appetite. Lower back pain when laying on my back. Upset stomach sometimes.

Exercise: I haven’t mentioned this on the blog yet but we finally moved into our new apartment so I’ve been keeping very busy unpacking everything so it’s been like a workout every day. After I’m done unpacking I’m planning on starting to do some YouTube prenatal workouts like prenatal yoga or something like that.

Tommy is: Getting more and more excited about the baby as time goes on.

Looking Forward To: Our beach vacation/babymoon next month and finding out the gender!!

Best Moments: Definitely moving into our new apartment and visiting my cousin and his kids in Maryland. His kids are 7 and 4 and they made both Tommy and I even more excited for the baby. It was so fun playing with them all weekend.
