    January Goals

As I shared in my 2021 goals post, I want to set more general goals this year and each month adjust the specifics. So if my general goal is to read more for the year, then in January I can set an amount of books I want to read. And then if I realize at the end of January that it was an unrealistic goal, I can change the number for February. I think this will keep me motivated to not give up my goals after just a few short weeks of trying.

So today I want to set some specific goals for January. 🙂

    My January Goals:

    • blog once a week
    • read two books
    • take the month off of social media
    • continue planning our weeks, including dinners
    • continue using our budget worksheet to plan our finances
    • celebrate Shane’s 3rd birthday!
    • celebrate my birthday!
    • celebrate Tommy’s birthday!
    • edit/organize one month of photos
    • work out 2-3 times this month (starting small!)
    • spend more one on one time with Shane and Riley

Okay, sounds like a lot but I feel that these are actually realistic for this month! We have a lot of birthdays to celebrate as 3/4 of our birthdays are in January 🤣.

Also, I have a new series coming to the blog this month! I’m super excited to start sharing our budgets at the beginning of each month and then checking in at the end to see how we did. I was planning on sharing our January budget this week but because of current events (😩) haven’t gotten around to it, so I will be sharing that next week instead! Super excited!

What are your goals for January?!

    January Goals

My goals this month are definitely very different than they normally are. Since I quit my job two weeks ago, I have been learning how to not be so uptight and stressed out all the time. I was literally running on E and not stopping at all when I was working and this month I want to really let go of a lot of stress and learn how to relax.

    • Workout 2-3x per week
    • Read two books
    • Spend time with God every day
    • Complete the Wife After God Devotional
    • Clean out the bedroom closet
    • Journal more
    • Blog at least 2-3x a week
    • Celebrate mine and Tommy’s birthday
    • Take more baths

I of course had to throw in there one productive thing because I just had too. Plus I’ve been trying to find the time (read: motivation) to do this and it will help me feel a lot better to not have a closet that is a complete wreck. I’m really excited about finally having some time to do things I love again. My husband has been the absolute best with encouraging me to rest and relax. I actually just went for a massage today for the first time and it was awesome. I’m going to have to find the money to do that again. I also just learned how much I love baths and am excited to take more with my nose in a book. Such perfection!

What are your goals this month?
    How do you relax?

    December Goals

Hey. Hi. Hello. Let’s recap my November goals shall we? I did not do well at all but I honestly knew when I wrote them that I kind of overdid it this month.

    1. Attend our new community group for the whole month. I’m gonna say we did this halfway. We went to two meetings, one was cancelled and one we skipped. But not bad.
    2. Read God’s word every day.
    3. Workout in some way 2-3 times a week. Ha not even close.
    4. Celebrate our first married Thanksgiving.
    5. Redo the floors in my moms house. Decided to wait on this one till next year.
    6. Go on our weekend getaway to Maryland! So much fun!
    7. Order our Christmas cards!  Can’t wait to get these.
    8. Buy TV stand for living room. I have to post a picture of this. Tommy built it this week and it looks so good.
    9. Get back into reading, read one book. I guess we can count this although I only finished the book I was reading but whatev.
    10. Stay off of social media on my phone. Nope. Also not even close.
    11. Clean out closets. Did one thanks to Tommy!
    12. Blog once a week.
    13. Study 1 Corinthians w Tommy every week. We did one week. We’re so bad at sticking to things we say we’re going to do. Sad.
    14. Do our couples devotional once a week. Also nope. We need to get ourselves together. But we have been praying together before dinner consistently and that has been very nice.
    15. Start Christmas shopping/make a budget for how much we can spend on gifts. Already have about half of my shopping done I think!
    16. Continue taking at least a half an hour lunch at work. No, didn’t do this either. Wah.
    17. Decorate for Christmas!🙂 YES and I’m so excited to show you guys all the decorations.
    18. Chop down our own Christmas tree. Nope but we did try so I’m counting this one as a yes. We went to a place to chop down your own trees but the trees sucked so we ended up buying one that was already cut. I need to do more research so we can do it next year. I was really looking forward to that.

I didn’t do quite as bad as I thought I did. But I’m a little disappointed because all of the harder goals were the ones I didn’t do. Oh well.

    December goals!

I only have two for this month because I want to stay focused on my relationship with Jesus and growing that during advent.

    1. Complete the She Reads Truth Advent study.
    2. Rest. Well.

I have already started the Advent bible study and I’m super excited about it. It’s already shown me so many truths already. Maybe during the month I’ll share some things I’m learning. And for the second goal, I realized the past few months I’m overworking myself trying to be a good employee and also a good wife at home but I need to get better at giving myself breaks. I get burnt out very easily so I want to focus on avoiding that for the rest of the year.

    What are your goals?

    November Goals

I did a lot better with my goals this month than I normally do and I think a huge help of that was by hanging them right next to my bed along with a blank calendar so I can write which days I do what. It helps me to actually see my process and plan to do that again this month. So lets recap my October goals.

    1. Read God’s word every day this month. I think I missed one day so that’s a win to me.
    2. Workout 2-3 times a week. I’d say I did way better at this but not completely there yet. The first two weeks I worked out twice but the last two weeks not at all. Getting there!
    3. Read more!! So excited about this one too. I realized that working through my lunch every day was causing me to burn out by Wednesday usually so I started taking a half an hour lunch and reading and it has been awesome this week. I also have read at night some nights instead of turning to Netflix.
    4. Cook more nutritious meals. I bought this meal plan for the month of November and have used that and also cooked some other healthy meals too. Could have done a little better on this though.
    5. Be more social. We had plans for two weeks to hang out with my cousin and her boyfriend and we also went to a wedding this month too!
    6. Clean out our closet.
    7. Redo the gallery wall. Loved how this came out. See above. 🙂
    8. Make a fall wreath. I’m crossing this off not because I did it, but because I realized I want to buy one instead. I might even just wait until next year because I already bought a Christmas wreath and plan on hanging that the day after Thanksgiving so really what’s the point in spending money on another wreath for about 20 days.
    9. Go apple picking. YES. This was such a sweet time with my husband. Check out my post about it, here.

    November Goals

    1. Attend our new community group for the whole month.
    2. Read God’s word every day.
    3. Workout in some way 2-3 times a week.
    4. Celebrate our first married Thanksgiving.
    5. Redo the floors in my moms house.
    6. Go on our weekend getaway to Maryland!
    7. Order our Christmas cards!
    8. Buy TV stand for living room.
    9. Get back into reading, read one book.
    10. Stay off of social media on my phone.
    11. Clean out closets.
    12. Blog once a week.
    13. Study 1 Corinthians w Tommy every week.
    14. Do our couples devotional once a week.
    15. Start Christmas shopping/make a budget for how much we can spend on gifts.
    16. Continue taking at least a half an hour lunch at work.
    17. Decorate for Christmas! 🙂
    18. Chop down our own Christmas tree.

So I clearly have lofty goals for November. Let’s see how much I can get done! What are your November goals?!

    September Goals

Okay, okay, I know I’m off to a bad start but I promise I had good intentions to write every day. But the beach is very tiring and distracting so I was basically set up to fail haha. But today I’m going to make up for it and do TWO days worth of posts! 🙂 (Mostly because it’s super windy, cloudy, and cold today but that’s besides the point 😉 ).

Toady’s prompt is to: “Share a list of your current goals.” It’s been a while since I’ve shared any goals on here so I why not start back up now?

    1. No credit cards. I’ve been making monthly budgets for almost a year now and last month decided I was going to not allow myself to use my credit cards and I did really well so I decided I’m going to keep that up this month.

    2. Speaking of budgets – I want to stick to my budget this month. I usually do pretty well but I lost track of the spending on about the third week of the month. I want to try to use the envelope system and put cash in envelopes and only use that money for what it was budgeted for.

    3. Spend as much time outside in the sun while it is still warm. Tommy and I started going down the shore about a month ago and want to make up for all the time we didn’t spend at the beach and in the sun in the beginning of the summer so while we still can we plan on spending most of our free time in the sun. 🙂

    4. Spend more time with God reading His word. The past two weeks have been rough for me when it comes to being consistent with reading my bible. I want to spend more time this month being consistent with this again. I know how important it is for my sanity to do this – to remind myself daily that I am not in control of this crazy life, but that God is. I also know that this important for my sanctification because God uses this time to transform my desires into more pleasing ones to Him and I know I desperately need that as well.

    5. Less Netflix, more Reading. Enough said.

    February Goals

I haven’t posted goals since November and to be honest and real I didn’t actually work on the goals I posted in November really either, but I want to be more diligent about bettering myself and I want to commit to write goals each month and post them to keep myself accountable.

    Health/Fitness

    • start working out 2-3x’s per week
    • continue making healthy lunches
    • find more healthy recipes
    • drink lots of water

    Marriage/Wedding

    • Research songs for wedding
    • book the baker
    • continue premarital counseling
    • read another marriage book

    Blog

    • post at least 2x’s per week
    • comment on other blogs
    • write a guest post

    Money/Budget

    • make a budget for February
    • save at least 350$

So there yah have it. I want to work more on my health because I can be super lazy when it comes to working out and eating healthy. I want to continue working on planning the wedding obviously. We decided we liked the idea of doing an ipod playlist rather than a DJ because then we get to pick the songs and save so much money too. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips when it comes to this? I also want to make sure I’m not just preparing for the wedding but for our marriage too. I usually set pretty unrealistic goals for myself and get really discouraged when I don’t meet them but I think I did a good job at setting realistic goals this month and I’m really excited to tackle them.
